The Story So Far...

Here are the significant events that have shaped my life. I feel that the time is right to document these stories and secure them in history. The first chapter details how candidate Eisenhower fails to shake my hand after we had walked a long way late at night as a young boy. Although I was disappointed at the moment this still had a significant and lasting impact on my early life. And gave me a great idea of who are Presidents are. Although just a young boy at the time I began to watch what Eisenhower did whenever that came on the news or in the paper. I continue that interest even today. The impact of standing next to JFK left me with beneficial lifelong changes in my young life. He transformed my whole line of thinking from a teenager to a world focused adult. I had panned to tell JFK that I had already cast my vote for him but I never got the chance. A frail elderly woman next to me began to get crushed by the crowd and made it impossible for candidate Kennedy to step into the crowd. Later I sent a note to Jacqueline Kennedy and a copy of her response is herewith included. The final chapter gives a close up view and description of well known California TV host Huell Howser. Who decided to come out to Borrego Springs after I sent him a note showing him some of the cool and unusual sites of that desert town. That later gave us the idea of doing our own TV show "Finding Virginia's Gems."
